I love the winters in the Midwest but for the last few years, they've been rather, well-- wimpy. This year winter has returned in all of its full glory. Our family was once again reminded how to enjoy life's simple pleasures such as a warm meal on a cold day or huddling around the fireplace while watching a movie with a big bowl of popcorn.Last week, as Winter began to loosen its grip in the Chicago area, we retreated further North to try and squeeze out every last bit of the season. We headed to Michigan's upper peninsula for a few days to take some time to 'play in the snow'. Equipped with 4 snowmobiles, we hit the trails. One of my favorite UP destinations is a waterfall named Bond Falls. It truly is a sight to behold in all seasons, but I think winter is my favorite time of year to see it.
